Quaint, comfortable - Bose QuietComfort 35
The Bose QuietComfort 35 is a pair of premium active noise cancellation headphones that are aimed at the higher ranges of mainstream premium personal audio gear. True to its name, the audio delivery is not particularly enthusiastic or peppy, but is smooth, warm and comfortable. The headphones maintain great consistency and composure of audio delivery across most genres, with well-calibrated low frequency performance, sharp and clear mids, and slightly conservative highs.
The bass produced is well-defined, but is not overpowering. The mids are reasonably sharp, but needed a little more emphasis to be pitch perfect. It sounds good across octaves and vocal ranges, but is a tad subdued on overall terms. The highs are the best bit, being well-measured, and well-detailed. The overall warmth in audio enablescomfortable listening, and the sweet timbre adds to the plush audio here. Good sound-staging here is further combined with smooth active noise cancellation to ensure that you get an expansive field of listening, and does not induce claustrophobia.
The noise cancellation is calibrated to add comfort to the listener and not isolate the person, which is a good element here. The headphones are heavier than its predecessor, but are fairly robust. Good connectivity range of over 40 feet and nearly 11 hours of playback time sum up the Bose QC35. Overall, it makes for the most optimally balanced premium headphones.
